Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain
Tenerife is a popular Island in Spain that has hiking and beach. I didn’t take too many photos as we came here as a beach retreat. I hope to return and hike next time!

The beaches! We spent most of our time at the beach with the other tourists. It was so relaxing and the people watching was incredible. The water was cold but refreshing from the heat.
A cool thing I learned about the Canary Islands is that it is geographically more Africa than Spain. The wind was crazy while we were there: a result from dusty storms in the nearby Sahara Desert!
There is an opera house in Tenerife that resembles the one in Sydney with the white structural wave architecture.
Buses in the Canary Islands are called Guaguas (a word not used on the mainland Spain!) Language on the islands is an unique mix of European and Caribbean Spanish and the accent resembles Caribbean more! The migration back and forth between the islands and the Caribbean is one of the reason for the bridging.
